TEAK Teak garden furniture requires care to extend its lifespan. Teak contains natural oil, but will slowly turn gray if left untreated, preferably with teak oil. If you want to maintain that natural teak look, you should use oil and also follow the care instructions to keep your product in good condition for many years. Before treating with teak oil: - Smooth the surface with fine sandpaper (polishing in the direction of the wood grain). Remove the Staub Sand with a cloth. - The furniture must be clean and completely dry before applying the oil. The easiest way to clean the piece is with a sponge or soft brush, along with soap and plenty of water. In some cases, it may be necessary to use a teak cleaner, which is available at major hardware stores. - Leave it outside and dry in the sun – it is very important that it is 100% dry before treatment. In some cases, the wood grain may be slightly prominent. This can be easily smoothed by polishing the surface with cardboard. - Carefully follow the instructions on the teak oil can/bottle and apply the oil with a brush.
