The Hako HK01 Acoustic Booth by .mdd is the ideal solution for open-plan offices, coworking spaces, and public areas where privacy, concentration, and good acoustics are essential. As a high-quality phone booth , it supports focused work, confidential conversations, and efficient space planning without the need to build permanent walls. Inspired by industrial architecture and industrial aesthetics, Hako combines a clean design language with functional modularity. The name “Hako” means “box” in Japanese and refers to the traditional latticework found in the architecture of that region—a fitting reference to the flexible, architectural concept behind this soundproof booth.
The Hako HK01 features a well-designed layered wall structure and certified sound insulation of DS,A – 25.7 dB in accordance withISO 23351-1:2020. . The padded walls are manufactured using Sonic technology and are certified as Acoustic Class A . This makes the soundproof booth particularly well-suited for phone calls, video calls, and periods of focused work. Automatic lighting and a quiet, adjustable fan ensure comfortable conditions inside. Ventilation continues to run for about five minutes after leaving the booth, helping to maintain a consistently fresh indoor climate.
Thanks to its clever construction, the floor can be removed without compromising stability. This increases mobility while also simplifying cable management. In the standard configuration, the soundproof booth is delivered without a floor, which also improves accessibility for wheelchair users. Optionally, a floor with a melamine panel and acoustic carpet can be added. With its compact dimensions of 1400 x 1350 x H. 2341 mm, the booth can be used flexibly even in smaller rooms. The robust metal construction ensures stability and durability for daily office use.
Hako offers many possibilities: from the basic office phone booth to a standalone, architectural concept created by combining individual elements. Features include, among other things, a padded ceiling with integrated lighting and an exhaust fan, 75-mm-thick solid walls, powder-coated columns, tempered glass walls, and a glass door with a lock and sealing system to further optimize acoustic performance. A shelf and a media box with connections are available as options. Available electrical connections—including EU, US, Schuko, UK, and CH—allow for flexible adaptation to different work environments.
